Reyes Florez

Chief Executive Officer

Reyes brings a diverse mix of finance and accounting expertise from his time at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, and a mix of broad functional skills from the time he spent operating his family’s boutique accounting firm. As CEO, he’s dedicated to providing an exceptional opportunity for the people and firms of the Platform Accounting Group.  

Tyson Chapman

Chief Operating Officer

With a management consulting, people, and strategy background, Tyson is skilled in people development, driving growth, and streamlining processes. He leads operations across all of Platform’s offices and holds a BS in Economics from Brigham Young University and an MBA from the University of Chicago.  

Ryan Bateman

Chief Financial Officer

Ryan Bateman is an experienced executive leader skilled at driving and enabling growth with scalable solutions. Ryan started his career in public accounting with PwC in Los Angeles and is a licensed CPA (inactive) in California. After leaving PwC, he spent the next ten years with two publicly traded Fortune 500 companies, Danaher and Exelis. After learning what great looks like at these blue-chip companies, Ryan has since helped scale several private equity and venture capital backed companies. He was the CFO of Suncrest Solar, a Sorenson Capital company, which sold to Sunrun. Ryan also served as the VP of Finance for PCF Insurance for several years, during which time PCF closed over 200 acquisitions and scaled revenue more than 10x to ~$800M. Ryan was a key leader in executing two major transactions, including a management buyout in November 2021 ($2.2B valuation) and a preferred equity financing in February 2023 ($4.7B valuation), building teams from scratch, implementing systems, and developing and implementing processes to enable and support the rapid growth at PCF. Ryan is excited to be joining the team at Platform Accounting Group and looking forward to significant growth.

Paul Solie

Chief Information Security Officer

Paul is the head of cybersecurity and information security at Platform Accounting Group, where he leads efforts to protect the company against emerging threats and ensures compliance with industry regulations. He plays a pivotal role in integrating IT systems during mergers and acquisitions, directing the M&A technology teams. With over 16 years of experience in the cybersecurity field, Paul brings both strategic leadership and deep technical knowledge to the table. He holds a BS in Information Systems and an MS in Cybersecurity, along with multiple certifications, including CISSP and CRISC. Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his family and has been a dedicated Special Olympics basketball coach for over 20 years.

Jeff Dredge, CPA

Head of Client Accounting Services

Jeff leads the Client Accounting Services segment of the firm, where he and his team focus on providing clients with outsourced accounting, outsourced CFO, and specialized industry consulting services. He has over 30 years of experience working with businesses in establishing and utilizing accounting systems. Jeff is a licensed CPA in the state of Utah, California, and New Jersey and a graduate of Brigham Young University. 

Adam Hanselman

Managing Director – Head of Strategy & Growth

Adam leads strategy and growth for Platform Group. He most recently worked as a Principal at Boston Consulting Group, where he guided clients across growth and operational topics, including optimizing pricing & promotions, expanding geographically, streamlining equipment & operations, and turnarounds for PE-backed companies. Adam was also VP of Strategy and M&A at Beauty Industry Group and an investment banker. Adam holds a BA in Economics from Brigham Young University and an MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago.

Chris Shafer

Senior Director – Head of Talent Acquisition

Chris joined the firm from a Midwest-based staffing agency where he spent almost a decade recruiting tax and accounting talent. He currently oversees recruiting efforts for all of Platform’s offices. He focuses on bringing high-level talent to the company while maintaining a fun and thriving work environment. 

Cathy Knepp

Senior Director – Head of Human Resources

Cathy’s technical tax and accounting background, along with her Human Resource Management experience, make her a valuable advocate for employees at Platform. Having experienced the early acquisition process firsthand, she leverages her expertise to ensure Platform’s people have the right support for success. 

Noah Beery

Senior Director – Head of Corporate Development

With a background in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, Noah leads Platform’s corporate development efforts. Prior to Platform, Noah was an advisor out of the Los Angeles, CA office of Credit Suisse, where he advised on over $20 billion in financings across leveraged loans, HY bonds, and equity products. 

Taralyn Nicholas

Senior Director – Head of Compliance

Taralyn Nicholas is a seasoned attorney who brings with her over fifteen years of litigation, compliance and transactional experience. Taralyn is a seasoned legal professional with experience navigating complex legal and regulatory landscapes. She loves building out programs, processes and professional teams to protect both the company and the consumer. Taralyn is an accomplished, innovative and growth-oriented leader with extensive professional experience in financial services including banking, fintech, bank-fintech partnership model, and SaaS providers. During her time in compliance, she has developed, implemented, and maintained a number of Compliance Management Programs and Financial Crimes Compliance Programs. She is a trusted advisor who approaches risk with a growth-oriented mindset to execute on strategic objectives in a prudent, risk balanced manner.

Michael Knecht

Senior Operations Manager

Mike works in operations to streamline the onboarding and long term success of each firm here at Platform Accounting Group. Mike has a Bachelor’s in Economics From Brigham Young University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. He comes with a decade of experience leading teams and developing core processes used by thousands of employees in both Field and Sales operations for a leading Technology provider. Mike enjoys spending time with his family and training for his next Triathlon.
